Your Privacy
|
| |
Your privacy is a top priority to me, and is insured by the law & ethics of my profession. I don't share information about who I see or what is discussed. My business account is in Austin, not at a Wimberley bank. Both office locations are located centrally, yet are off the beaten track so your arrival and departure can be private.

Confidentiality
|
| |
All interactions with mental health professionals are private and confidential and will not be released without your written permission. You have the right to review your own records. For the vast majority of clients, no exceptions to confidentiality are made. However, the law requires therapists to make exceptions in certain circumstances such as reporting child abuse, or protecting human life.

Fees
|
| |
Effective April 1, 2008: Initial visits are billed at $160. Thereafter, my fee is $120 per 50 minute session of individual psychotherapy. Conjoint therapy (couples/families) is $150 for 50 minutes. Longer or shorter individual sessions: a 25-30 minute session is $80; a 75 minute session is $180. I do charge for missed sessions and require 24-hour notice of cancellations. There is no charge for occasional brief telephone or email contacts. I offer some sliding-fee services to make therapy available to those who could not otherwise afford it.

Insurance
|
| |
In many situations, insurance benefits may be used to offset a portion of the fee. I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicare. I am on the SIMS provider panel for local musicians and their families. For other plans, I am an out-of-network provider; I can provide a receipt that you can file with your insurance.

|
Payment Arrangements
|
| |
Fees are due and payable at the end of each session, unless other arrangements have been made. I accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Sorry, no refunds on services provided. Psychotherapy is an individualized service and results cannot be guaranteed. I encourage you to talk with me about any concerns you may have about the process or outcomes of your therapy.
